Toilet waterproofing steps

Toilet waterproofing steps

As the toilet is used as a shower place, the waterproof work must be done well, especially the joint between the wall and the ground, and the joint between the upper and lower water pipes, which is the place where water leakage is most likely to occur. For these places, great attention should be paid to that the waterproof coating must be applied in place. Next, I will introduce the waterproof steps and precautions of the toilet.

Toilet waterproofing steps

Step 1: you can start with a slightly coarse cement, and then brush the waterproof coating after the cement is dry. But in painting money, the ground should be flat and free of grooves. Then spray water on the ground to discharge the gas in the small hole.

Step 2: powder and liquid materials shall be stirred evenly. If bubbles appear during painting, the bubbles shall be brushed away.

Step 3: brush the paint from the same direction, wait 1-2 hours, and then brush the second layer. When brushing the second layer, the direction of the brush should be opposite to that of the first layer, so as to achieve the best coverage.

Step 4: brush several times to increase the density and fill the gap. Some people think that the more layers of waterproof coating, the better, or even brush six or seven layers, in fact, this is not good, the coating is too thick and easy to crack.

Step 5: after one day's brushing, carry out waterproof test.

Step 6: when doing the waterproof test, first say hello to the downstairs neighbor, then block the floor drain, and then pour water on the ground. After an hour, ask the downstairs neighbor if there is water leakage. In case of water leakage, the waterproof layer shall be made again. If the waterproof test is qualified, the bricks can be pasted.

Precautions for toilet waterproofing

1. In order to ensure that the toilet floor is flat, it must be leveled with cement mortar, and then waterproof, so as to avoid leakage caused by uneven thickness of waterproof coating.

2. After leveling, pay attention to fire prevention and waterproof during the construction of waterproof layer.

3. During the waterproof construction, the floor drain, pipeline and wall hole shall be carefully inspected, and the pipe root must be caulked as required during the construction.

4. Attention should also be paid to the waterproof treatment of the wall. If the wall is adjacent to the bathtub, the height of the waterproof treatment should be higher than the upper edge of the bathtub, and the height of the shower should be 180cm.
